Our stock colors include Brown, Chocolate, Gray, Tan, Valley Tan, and Cocoa Brown. We also offer a wide range of special order colors including Beige, Black, Oak, Rosetta, Sunset Red, and more. Slump block stock colors are Pearl White, Tule Brown, and Mission, with Sequoia, Adobe, and Mountains Rust available as special order. Contact us for samples.
Yes. Special order colors require a signed approval before production and additional lead time. Contact our sales team early in your project timeline to discuss custom color options and minimum order quantities.
Modern Deco is our proprietary block finish (patent pending) that combines the smooth look of Precision block with the exposed texture of Shot Blast. It's available in five design patterns — Circle, Crescent, Diagonal, Horizontal, and Triangle — and can't be found anywhere else.
Absolutely. We encourage requesting physical samples for accurate color matching. Visit either of our locations to see products in person, or contact us to arrange samples for your project.
Yes! We sell our products to the general public as well as contractors and masons. Visit our homeowners page for DIY guides, a block calculator, and color options. You can purchase directly from either of our plant locations.
We accept check and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). Qualified contractors can apply for credit accounts with net terms.
Standard 8x16 face blocks cover approximately 112.5 units per 100 square feet (with 3/8" mortar joints). We recommend adding 5-10% for waste and breakage. Use our block calculator for a quick estimate, or contact us for project-specific help.
Delivery & Pickup
Yes, we deliver throughout the Las Vegas valley and surrounding areas. Delivery fees vary by location and order size. Contact us for delivery pricing and scheduling.

Technical Questions
Yes. All of our structural block meets ASTM C-90 load bearing grade requirements and is manufactured with Type V cement conforming to ASTM C-150 for Type II/V Cements. Color pigments and scores do not alter the compressive strength, absorption, or shrinkage of the units. Testing is performed per ASTM C-140 methods.
Block is manufactured in three weight categories per ASTM C-90:
Lightweight: 85–105 pcf
Medium Weight: 105–125 pcf
Normal Weight: 125+ pcf
The weight category can affect the appearance of exposed-aggregate finishes like Split Face and Shot Blast due to differences in aggregate composition. If your project specs call for a specific weight, make sure architectural and structural drawings agree — submit an RFI if they conflict.
CMU walls can achieve up to a 4-hour fire rating. An 8" solid grouted wall is rated at 4 hours per building code. Fire ratings depend on block width, grouting, and aggregate type. Consult your local building code tables for specific assembly ratings.
An 8" solid grouted medium weight CMU wall has a calculated STC rating of approximately 56. Higher STC ratings can be achieved with denser block, thicker walls, or added furring strips and insulation. This makes CMU an excellent choice for schools, offices, and anywhere sound isolation matters.
Efflorescence is a white crystalline deposit that can form on masonry surfaces when water-soluble salts migrate to the surface and evaporate. It's a natural occurrence — not a defect — and is typically most noticeable after rain or prolonged moisture exposure. It can be cleaned with industry-standard masonry cleaners. Using block with an integral water repellent (IWR) additive helps reduce efflorescence and improves moisture resistance.
IWR is an emulsion added during the manufacturing process that reduces water absorption and helps prevent efflorescence. It also improves resistance to wind-driven rain. We include IWR in all of our masonry products as standard.
Natural aggregates — rock, sand, and lightweight materials — have inherent color variations. These variations are most visible in exposed-aggregate finishes like Split Face, Shot Blast, and Ground Face. This is a normal characteristic of concrete masonry and contributes to the natural, authentic look of a finished wall. We always recommend requesting physical samples for accurate color evaluation.
CMU is classified as heavy mass construction, which means it benefits from thermal mass credits in energy code calculations. An 8" fully grouted block wall often meets prescriptive energy requirements without additional insulation. For higher R-values, CMU can be combined with rigid insulation, insulated furring, or pre-insulated masonry units as part of a complete wall system. Consult your energy code requirements for specific project needs.
The main difference is the surface finish:
Precision: Smooth, uniform surface — ideal for painting or a clean look
Split Face: Rough, natural texture — popular for fence walls and facades
Shot Blast: Exposed aggregate — reveals the stone and color within
Combed Face: Horizontal grooves — modern, linear aesthetic
Modern Deco: Combines precision and shot blast — our exclusive finish

These refer to how many faces of the block have the split texture:
S1S (Split 1 Side) — one face is split textured, the other is smooth
S2S (Split 2 Sides) — both long faces are split textured
S1S1E (Split 1 Side, 1 End) — one face and one end are split, used for exposed corners
Most standard split face walls use S1S. Use S1S1E at corners where the end of the block will be visible. See our Split Face page for available sizes.
